Creating a “new reason” to choose clothing
Rename X is an upcycling project launched jointly in 2019 by FINE Co., Ltd. of Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture (representative: 加藤 ゆかり) and Cross Plus Co., Ltd. (representative: 山本 大寛). It creates products using surplus fabric inventory that does not become finished products during manufacturing, as well as factory idle time, to create a “new reason” to choose clothing. The project offers the for Casual, for Team, and for Relax series.

Concept

Rename X began as an upcycling initiative to reuse fabric that would otherwise be discarded. It has also begun making clothing that helps address other challenges in the apparel industry.

Separate from Rename’s recirculation business, this is an upcycling project launched joint

Separate from Rename’s recirculation business, this is an upcycling project launched jointly with Cross Plus in 2019. While Rename relabels existing inventory, Rename X plans and manufactures new products using leftover fabric from apparel production and spare factory capacity. Starting with its first offering, for Casual, it expanded to for Team and for Relax, positioning itself to complement Rename’s resale function through the use of materials.
