ATTACHMENT is a Japanese fashion brand founded in Tokyo in 1999 by Kazuyuki Kumagai. Its offerings center on ready-to-wear, primarily for men, and extend to shoes, bags, hats, and accessories. Drawing on his experience at Issey Miyake, Kumagai places importance on material selection and meticulous tailoring. Based on the concept of “clothes that bring out the wearer,” the brand is available at select shops and directly operated stores in Japan and overseas. Mitsuki Enomoto has served as designer since 2022–2023 F/W.
Concept
Clothing is an accessory that brings out the wearer’s individuality, appeal, and inner self. To achieve this, the brand pursues simplicity in design. Its approach combines carefully considered silhouettes with comfort created through the use of materials, and meticulous tailoring made possible by craftsmanship. It proposes clothes that transcend time and bring out the wearer’s inner qualities.

A menswear collection line launched under the name of Kazuyuki Kumagai, founder of ATTACHMENT. It began in Fall/Winter 2007 as a line for overseas markets, building on ATTACHMENT’s minimalist design philosophy while pursuing original materials, sharp silhouettes, and more collection-oriented expression. Whereas ATTACHMENT broadly proposes contemporary everyday wear, KAZUYUKI KUMAGAI took on the role of foregrounding material development and form under Kumagai’s own name, strengthening the menswear division’s presence. The line ended with the Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

FEMMENT is a derivative line responsible for the women’s division within ATTACHMENT’s brand family. It began as MM ATTACHMENT for Spring/Summer 2013 and was renamed FEMMENT from Spring/Summer 2020. It carries forward the early design concepts directed by 熊谷和幸, with 京森幸子, who worked on the designs for MM ATTACHMENT, serving as designer. Unlike the menswear-focused ATTACHMENT and KAZUYUKI KUMAGAI, which developed a stronger collection-oriented identity under 熊谷’s name, the line centers on modern, elegant clothing for women while incorporating a playful spirit and a free sensibility.

STILL ATTACHMENT is an aspirational line by 光希榎本, designer of ATTACHMENT, presenting a further refinement of the techniques, methods of production, and silhouettes he has continuously explored in the main collection. Announced ahead of its launch for Fall/Winter 2026, it adopts a high-end approach that emphasizes natural materials such as silk, cashmere, and wool, as well as domestically sourced materials and manufacturing in Japan. While ATTACHMENT offers a broad range of everyday wardrobe pieces, STILL ATTACHMENT focuses more closely on materials, tailoring, and timeless design, and serves to communicate the brand’s philosophy more clearly. It is a new, elevated offshoot under 榎本’s direction, distinct from FEMMENT’s womenswear line and the discontinued KAZUYUKI KUMAGAI.
