Overview

BLANC.. is a Japanese eyewear brand launched in 2012 by designer Toshiyuki Watanabe. Drawing on his experience as a buyer for a select shop carrying designer brands from Japan and abroad, the brand offers glasses and sunglasses that combine practicality and fashion. It views eyewear as something to enjoy every day, like bags and shoes, and proposes simple designs that pair easily with a wide range of styles, including classic, casual, and streetwear. Its philosophy is “Newtral” (New + Neutral), and the distinctive detail at the end of the left temple is a signature feature. Products are made in Sabae City, Fukui Prefecture, and since 2020 the brand has also offered the global line “817 BLANC LNT.”

817 BLANC LNT is a global line launched by BLANC.. in 2020 in connection with its overseas expansion. Sharing BLANC..’s core brand foundation, it is developed as a series in which designer Toshiyuki Watanabe creates freely, without restrictions. Its characteristics include designs with an imported feel and catchy forms. While the standard line emphasizes universality and everyday wear, this line is positioned to expand the design range with overseas markets in mind. It is still treated as a distinct product line alongside BLANC.. in official sales and events, making it a sub-line within the brand family.
