dictionary is a Japanese fashion brand launched by designer Yasutaka Tomita for the Spring/Summer 2008 season. Centered on women’s wear and accessories, it developed products around fashion and lifestyle, combining apparel with highly fashion-oriented interior products. The brand name derives from the idea that the act of “quoting and referencing,” indispensable to giving form to design, is its point of origin. In 2012, it launched a new line, KNOT. The brand’s activities have been on hiatus since around 2016.
