ED ROBERT JUDSON is a Japanese leather goods brand launched in 2009 by designer Ken Esaki. Its product range includes bags, wallets, card cases, belts, and key accessories, and it creates functional products incorporating industrial parts such as springs and wires. ED ROBERT JUDSON β was an experimental concept line derived from ED ROBERT JUDSON, launched in 2016. While the main line focused on everyday products combining industrial parts and leather, β placed greater emphasis on material research and functional development, using rare leathers and new technologies. It was also presented under its own line name as the “β version” of ED ROBERT JUDSON in official stockists’ offerings and department store projects. Renamed beta post from Fall/Winter 2019, it is now a discontinued sub-line.

beta post is the successor brand to ED ROBERT JUDSON’s experimental concept line, “ED ROBERT JUDSON β,” which was renamed and launched from Fall/Winter 2019. While carrying forward the parent brand’s exploration of structure and function, it set out to prompt viewers to think through its products and expanded its scope to include apparel alongside bags and leather goods. It can be regarded as a derivative brand within the ED ROBERT JUDSON brand family, not simply as another brand designed by the same designer, because it continues under an independent brand name after an official line derived from the parent brand was renamed.
