Overview

EFFECTOR BY NIGO® is a collaborative label launched in 2010 by Japanese eyewear brand EFFECTOR and creative maker NIGO®. NIGO® was responsible for design and image direction, and the label offered glasses and sunglasses incorporating EFFECTOR's aesthetic. Its releases included the first models, Charles and Holly, as well as Phil, Darryl, and Monica. Centered on classic eyewear referencing musicians and rockabilly culture of the 1950s and 1960s, the line combines EFFECTOR's Japanese-made, handmade craftsmanship with NIGO®'s designs.

An official collaboration label of EFFECTOR launched in fall 2010, incorporating the design and image direction of creative maker NIGO. Based on EFFECTOR’s aesthetic, it reflected elements of musicians from the 1950s and 1960s and vintage eyewear, and released multiple models, including Charles, Holly, Phil, Monica, and Darryl, from 2010 to 2012. Rather than a name for a one-off exclusive commission, it was an independent offshoot within EFFECTOR’s collaborations, officially developed as an ongoing label.
