FOR THE NEXT AGE
H.L.N.A is a Japan-based board sports brand and project headquartered in Tokyo, launched in 2009 by professional surfer and photographer Ryu Nakamura. The name is an abbreviation of HUGE LEVER NEXT AGE. Spanning surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding, it aims to broadly and accurately communicate board sports to the next generation. Its activities include supporting riders, producing and operating skateparks, selling apparel and gear, and running an online store. Under the concept “BOARD RIDERS AND CULTURE,” it presents its own interpretations of fashion, lifestyle, cosmetics, and outdoor culture, and also operates the original brand MAGIC NUMBER.

MAGIC NUMBER is a brand that H.L.N.A officially positions as an “original lifestyle brand,” launched in 2008. Against the background of H.L.N.A’s board sports culture, it develops apparel incorporating elements of military, outdoor, and workwear styles, with surfing as its starting point, under the direction of Ryu Nakamura. Unlike domestic exclusive-distribution brands handled by H.L.N.A, such as REEF, IPD, and Rivvia PROJECTS, it is developed under an independent name within the brand family as an original in-house brand rather than as a store name or a brand carried by the company. It can therefore be recognized as a sub-brand officially derived from H.L.N.A.
