Insonnia PROJECTS is a knitwear and cut-and-sew label derived from Insonnia, originating from “Insonnia Project,” founded in Japan in 2010 by RIHO ICHINOSE. It is currently directed by Hideaki Shikama and recreates American-made merchandise produced from the late 1980s to the mid-1990s, as well as officially licensed graphics of rock, hip-hop, and other artists and musicians, on T-shirts, sweatshirts, knitwear, and other items. Its production system, in which domestic artisans handle dyeing, printing, and processing, is a defining feature. The label operates under the concept of “reconstructing standard wear through jersey and knitwear.”
