Overview
MARU TO is a Japanese workwear and everyday clothing brand launched in 2017 by designer Yuki Toge (藤解由紀). Focusing on overalls and aprons, the brand offers workwear and everyday clothing informed by experience in working environments. It also practices natural dyeing using plant and crop byproducts. The atelier is currently located at an elevation of approximately 1,300 meters in Yatsugatake, where design, sewing, and plant-based dyeing are carried out. The brand values making garments one at a time with people and materials close at hand, in step with the rhythms of nature.
Concept
With an emphasis on making things in step with the rhythms of nature, the brand creates garments shaped by nature’s changing qualities, one piece at a time with people close at hand, and one color at a time from nearby materials.
