PHEENY is a Japanese womenswear brand created by designer Maiko Akimoto. It began with the Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Its official concept is “Street, Clean, and Relax,” and it aims to create clothes that are naturally chosen for everyday wear, emphasizing the femininity and subtle nuances brought out by simple clothing. The brand name is a coined word combining “Philosophy” and “Funny.” After graduating from the Technical Course at Bunka Fashion College, Akimoto gained experience as a pattern maker before launching her own brand.
