PIEDPIPER, a select shop and original brand, was founded in November 1993 at Namikibashi in Shibuya, Tokyo, by three brothers: Kenichiro Kameishi, Masaya, and Takamasa. It offered menswear sourced in Europe alongside clothing designed in-house, and gained support in Japan’s fashion scene in the 1990s. The store business ended in 2001, but in 2011 the brand restarted in collaboration with REBIRTH PROJECT as PIEDPIPER REBIRTH PROJECT. After restarting, it proposed fashion products that made use of domestic sewing techniques and ethical materials, with “circulation” and “regeneration” as its concepts. The brand’s activities are likely currently suspended.
