RUMCHE GREEN is a vintage remake line developed by the Japanese fashion brand RUMCHE. On its official website, the brand presented, for Spring/Summer 2023, items made by selecting garments centered on 1970s American vintage and remaking them to suit RUMCHE’s style. Its approach centers on upcycling: making use of garments that would otherwise have been discarded and those that have become old, connecting the thoughts of their makers and wearers, and creating a new story with each piece. It advocates slow fashion, reuse, sustainable materials, and handmade work, and proposes ways of making fashion that do not burden the environment.
