Suzusan is a Japanese fashion and textile brand rooted in Arimatsu, Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, where the Murase family has passed down shibori techniques for more than 100 years. Hiroyuki Murase launched the label in Düsseldorf, Germany, in 2008, aiming to use shibori in a contemporary context. The brand offers clothing and accessories, with each piece passing through the hands of several artisans before completion.
Concept
In order to halt the decline of the Shibori craft that has been witnessed over the past five decades, they are attempting to give the technique more contemporary relevance through the development of new and innovative procedures and modern creations.
