UNDECORATED is a fashion brand based in Tokyo, Japan. It launched in the 2008–09 Fall/Winter season as the menswear label “undecorated MAN,” founded by Yoshio Kubo, and was renamed “UNDECORATED” in 2018, when it also began developing womenswear. Centered on the idea of “not decorating” reflected in its name, the brand builds its collections around the concept of “design for materials,” considering the process from material development through garment making. Since 2016, Takayuki Kono has served as designer.
