We empower life in the elements
Woolrich Woolen Mills is an outdoor clothing brand founded in Pennsylvania in 1830 by John Rich and Daniel McCormick. Centered on wool, it offers coats, parkas, socks, and blankets, and has supplied socks, blankets, and coats to U.S. soldiers. Its official message is “We empower life in the elements,” and its mission is to empower people against the “elements,” both real and imagined. Its icon is the buffalo check. The Woolen Mills collection was developed by Daiki Suzuki, with Mark McNairy participating as creative director.

Concept

At its core, Woolrich is a celebration of spirit and capability in all pursuits; of an empowerment against elements real and imagined; of a bold, tactile and elevated stylishness that stands the test of time and conditions. We are here to inspire our customers to see the world on their terms through a brand and product that matches their ambitions.

Launched by W.P. Lavori in Corso in 2006, this was the most fashion-oriented line within Woolrich. Daiki Suzuki led the early creative direction, followed by Mark McNairy from 2011 onward. It moved away from traditional wool patterns and woods-inspired staples, reworking them with preppy and military elements, and was offered in small-scale capsules, including production at U.S. mills. It ended during a later restructuring.
