HAND ROOM WOMEN’S is a women’s line that grew out of the Japanese menswear brand HAND ROOM and launched in Fall/Winter 2018. Naoko Itakura, director of the select shop Daja in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, was appointed its director. The line offers daily wear, including shirts, pants, and dresses, drawing on patternmaking by Yasuhiko Okada and the skills of factories and craftspeople throughout Japan. Sharing HAND ROOM’s philosophy of “pursuing uncompromising quality in the items worn every day,” it focuses on carefully selected materials and domestic production to present basic, traditional clothing for women.
Concept
Daily wear, carefully finished at factories with the highest level of sewing expertise, using carefully selected, top-quality materials and refined, modern patternmaking designed for comfort, and drawing on the skills of outstanding factories and craftspeople throughout Japan with whom the brand has made clothes for many years.
