Overview

MIHARAYASUHIRO Modified is a remake line of MIHARA YASUHIRO created by designer Yasuhiro Mihara. Launched in 2015, it selects vintage and military items dating from the 1940s onward from around the world, which the atelier team takes apart and reconstructs into one-of-a-kind pieces. The collection also incorporates handwork such as painting and embroidery, and is built around the idea of reconfiguring existing forms.

Launched in 2015, this new line foregrounded the idea of dismantling vintage pieces and secondhand clothing collected by Yasuhiro Mihara and reconstructing them by hand in the atelier team. Rather than simply extending the main line’s formal qualities, it reframed the experimental nature of MIHARA YASUHIRO within the context of remaking by editing the materials’ histories and their structures themselves. It is a structure-editing offshoot, distinct from purpose-specific lines such as denim and business shoes.

An offshoot line focused on reconstruction and remaking.
