Overview

MUVEIL WORK was a casual line spun off from the Japanese fashion brand MUVEIL in 2012. Created by designer Michiko Nakayama, it focused on classic everyday wear such as denim, chinos, and sweatshirts. It began by making independent the casual items that had originally been proposed as part of MUVEIL outfits, and launched in earnest with the 2013 Cruise Collection. It proposed products around a different theme each month. In 2016, its basic line was integrated into MUVEIL’s main line, bringing its development as an independent brand to an end.

MUVEIL WORK began in 2012 as a line separating classic casual items such as chinos, denim, and sweatshirts that had been part of MUVEIL’s main line. The designer described it as offering clothes suited to everyday life, in contrast to the more glamorous MUVEIL. As a line developing everyday wear around themes, it served a role distinct from the main line’s decorative style. In 2016, it was integrated into the main line as a basic line, ending its development as an independent line.
