PHOTOCOPIEU is a womenswear brand founded in Japan in 2018 by designer Misa Takeuchi. It presented its collection in the Fall/Winter 2019 season and focuses primarily on ready-to-wear. After working as a corporate designer in Tokyo, Takeuchi moved to France, graduated from Paris Syndicat, and gained experience at houses including ISABEL MARANT. Inspired by her empathy for the supple yet strong women she met in Paris, the brand’s official philosophy is to bring feminine silhouettes and a strong presence together. It creates clothing with a focus on comfort that blends into everyday life.

PHOTOCOPIEU’s garments emerged from an empathy with the attitudes of the supple yet strong women encountered in Paris, bringing feminine silhouettes and a strong presence together. While resolutely stripping away superficial decoration, the garments feature lines of construction shaped by the warmth of the hand and organic forms that reveal and conceal the female body, bringing emotional warmth to both the wearer and the viewer.
