Overview

Upcycle Line is an upcycling line derived from AEGO FREEDOM LAB, based in Gwangju, South Korea. It uses surplus garments destined for disposal and develops upcycling designs by dismantling and reconstructing different fabrics using AEGO’s own methods. Sales are generally limited according to the amount of available stock. Because high-quality fabrics are tailored by hand, products vary from one piece to another. Collaborations with other brands are also planned each season.

Concept

Upcycling designs that freely dismantle and recombine surplus garments destined for disposal.

An experimental line focused on reconstruction and limited production

Upcycle Line is AEGO FREEDOM LAB’s official upcycled derivative line, adopting production

Upcycle Line is AEGO FREEDOM LAB’s official upcycled derivative line, adopting production and design methods that differ from those of the regular Steady Line. It uses stock garments scheduled for disposal as materials and reconstructs them into new garments through AEGO’s distinctive process of deconstruction and reconnection. The line is based on limited releases determined by the quantity of available materials and on intentionally uneven, hand-finished results, and also encompasses seasonal collaborations. In contrast to the line responsible for the continued supply of staple products, it is positioned as a line that foregrounds experimentation and circular production methods.
