Overview

ANACHRONORM Clothing is a diffusion line launched for Spring/Summer 2011 by ANACHRONORM, a Japanese brand based in Okayama and created by Tomoki Tanushi. The parent brand began in 2004 and has pursued finishing, aging, and remaking, with denim at its core. While ANACHRONORM Reading is built around four fictional characters, this line sets aside character profiles to express freer clothing. Combining techniques in materials, sewing, dyeing, washing, and special processing, it proposed contemporary everyday clothing under the philosophy of “creating new vintage for the next era.”

ANACHRONORM Clothing is a historical line developed by ANACHRONORM alongside Reading from Spring/Summer 2011. While Reading centered on four fictional characters and their backstories, Clothing took a step back from character settings and served to propose apparel with greater freedom. Inheriting ANACHRONORM’s accumulated techniques in yarn, fabric, sewing, and processing, the line broadened its expression toward contemporary everyday clothing not limited to a particular narrative. It is not included in the current official label list and can be identified as a past line of the brand.
