NANGA×SUBU is a collaboration between NANGA, a down manufacturer based in Shiga Prefecture, and SUBU, a winter sandal brand. Product descriptions also use the phrase, “Plush and warm. Winter sandals made with waterproof materials.” Guided by their shared principle of “making Japanese winters more comfortable,” the collaboration offers winter sandals that seamlessly connect outdoor activities and everyday life. NANGA was founded in 1994 in Maibara, Shiga Prefecture, and carries the aspirations of its founder, Akira Yokota. SUBU was launched in 2016 by Toshihiko Fukawa with the concept “winter sandals no one has ever seen.” The collaboration sandals were newly released on October 8, 2021.
