Overview

Rags McGREGOR is a menswear label derived from the long-established American casual brand McGREGOR, which debuted in Japan for the Fall/Winter 2011 season. Under the concept “Don't Trust Thirties,” it developed clothing that reinterpreted elements of 1960s rock, vintage, workwear, military, and outdoor styles in a contemporary way, based on McGREGOR’s American casualwear. The label incorporated music and art subcultures and operated directly managed stores in Omotesando, Tokyo, and Osaka. It also collaborated with brands including N.HOOLYWOOD and nonnative. The brand went on hiatus in August 2018.

Rags McGREGOR is a Japanese menswear label that emerged from McGREGOR in Fall/Winter 2011. Building on its parent brand’s American casual style, it incorporated elements of sports, military, outdoor, and vintage styles, as well as music, rock, and art, and reworked them for the contemporary Japanese casual scene. In contrast to McGREGOR’s traditional and everyday American casual styles, it was characterized by its emphasis on the distressed look of vintage clothing, a rock aesthetic, and highly independent styling. Unlike the family-oriented McGREGOR CLASSIC and the collaboration-based Budge Dragon, it was developed as a design-focused line for younger men and was suspended in 2018.
