Overview

SHIPS is a select shop and apparel company established in Tokyo in 1975. Following its predecessor, MIURA & SONS Shibuya Store, which opened in 1975, it opened its first store, SHIPS Ginza Store, in 1977. Its concept is “STYLISH STANDARD.” Centered on a selection of domestic and international brands and its own original products, it offers clothing and fashion accessories for men, women, and children through its stores and official online shop.

Sub-brands

  • SHIPS for women 1979

A core line within SHIPS’ label system, specializing in womenswear. Centered on basic elements, it presents refined collections incorporating the tastes of the times and develops the worldview of SHIPS itself in its most standard form for women. It forms its lineup while sharing roles with SHIPS Primary Navy Label, which places greater emphasis on traditional styles, and SHIPS any, which spans genders and settings.

  • SHIPS KIDS 1989

A kids’ line derived from SHIPS, originating from the idea of “wanting our children to wear the clothes we wear.” Based on SHIPS’ standard aesthetic, it offers clothing tailored to children. Alongside “SHIPS any,” which also considers family wear, and “SHIPS Colors,” focused primarily on outlet offerings, it can be understood as a label specializing in the children’s segment.

  • SHIPS JET BLUE 2005

A men’s line derived from SHIPS, whose reorganization was announced around the concept “SONS OF STYLISH STANDARD,” offering “life-size wear” that distills the essence of SHIPS’ “STYLISH STANDARD.” A 2019 FALL/WINTER collection page can be found on the official website, while the line is not listed in the current official label lineup.

  • SHIPS Colors 2014

A derivative label based on SHIPS’ concept, “STYLISH STANDARD,” comprising original items ranging from casual to business wear. It offers men’s, women’s, and kids’ items, and is explicitly stated to operate primarily through OUTLET stores and its e-commerce site. Among the group of labels, it serves as a broadly accessible option in terms of its range of uses and distribution channels.

  • SHIPS Days 2014

A line derived from SHIPS’ lifestyle offering, focusing on lounge wear, sleepwear, and living and bath goods, among other categories. In contrast to apparel-centered lines such as “SHIPS” and “SHIPS for women,” it expands into categories related to everyday living and serves to increase points of contact with the brand through daily life.

  • SHIPS Primary Navy Label 2014

A derivative label of SHIPS in the women’s segment, proposing “basics in progress” based on traditional style. Its product descriptions also explicitly position it as grounded in SHIPS’s dress-down casual/traditional style. Compared with “SHIPS for women,” it foregrounds traditional elements and serves to reinforce the foundation of everyday polished casual wear.

  • SHIPS Days STANDARD 2016

“SHIPS Days STANDARD,” derived from SHIPS Days, was introduced as a label that brought together everyday clothing established as staples at Days under the name “STANDARD.” It explicitly stated that it maintained SHIPS Days’ standards for materials and construction while emphasizing a balance between price and product, and it served to bring SHIPS Days’ basics to a broader audience.

A derivative line presented separately within SHIPS Days as “WHITE LABEL,” offering daily items suited to “the everyday lives of adult women,” while combining an awareness of trends with a natural feel. In contrast to SHIPS Days, which centers on lifestyle goods, it is positioned to place greater emphasis on clothing for women to wear and style in different ways.

It carries forward the “STYLISH STANDARD” DNA cultivated by SHIPS while serving within the lineup as an entry point that spans age, gender, and occasion.
